MIRI (Nov 3): The Ministry of Health (MOH), through the Sarawak Health Department, has continuously demonstrated their hard work and commitment by providing quality medical services and healthcare for the Miri community, said Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin.
The Minister of Transport Sarawak said that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the healthcare frontliners of the Miri Health Department had worked hard to ensure the safety and health of the public, putting aside their own interests for the well-being of others.
He added that the department will prioritise providing quality health facilities for residents in both urban and rural areas.
“As a result, we not only have a new health clinic (Miri City Health Clinic) but also health infrastructures and facilities, including helicopters, meant to serve the rural areas to ensure that all levels of society receive proper healthcare,” said Lee.
The Senadin assemblyman said this when officiating at a health camp held at Emart Riam here yesterday, organised by the Miri City Health Clinic in collaboration with its advisory panel.
Moreover, Lee also called upon the Miri community to constantly check the status and condition of their health by taking advantage of the facilities provided by the MOH.
“I am happy to see the commitment shown by the organising committee in making this health camp a success. This kind of effort provides a platform to boost the awareness of all parties in taking care of their health, and that health is a shared right and responsibility.
“Thus, I would like to advise the public as to not be complacent with their health. As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure,” he added.
Among those present were Miri Divisional Health Officer Dr Raviwharmman Packierisamy, Miri Health Office chief (Family Development) Dr Noor Izni Mohamed Shapie, Miri City Health Clinic head Dr Maurice Steve Utap, and Miri City Health Clinic Advisory Panel chairman Jeffery Phang Siew Foong.
