KOTA KINABALU (Dec 3): Datuk Mohamed Razali Razi, better known as Datuk Bob, described his appointment into the Sabah State Legislative Assembly as a trust to continue advocating for the voice of the people.
He said the confidence placed in him is a great responsibility that he will carry with full commitment, particularly in ensuring that the Darau community continues to receive the representation and attention it deserves.
“Politics is not a stage to seek luxury, but a space to bring forward the voice of the people who are sometimes drowned out amid the noise of power struggles. I carry this trust with a humble heart,” he said on Facebook yesterday.
The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Executive Secretary expressed gratitude for the opportunity bestowed upon him, describing his grassroots activities — meeting residents, listening to grievances, and understanding local issues — as part of God’s plan to prepare him for this moment.
“All these efforts are for Darau. For the families I met along village roads, for the youth with big dreams, for the parents who want a more secure future. Darau is not just an area, it is the soul of my struggle,” he said.
The Gagasan Rakyat Sabah secretary-general added that power is only a loan and can come and go at any time, but serving the people is a responsibility he will always uphold.
“God willing, Darau’s voice will always echo in the Sabah State Assembly. Thank you, Darau. This trust belongs to all of us,” he said.
Mohamed Razali, who is also Gagasan Rakyat Darau division chief, is one of six nominated assemblymen announced on Tuesday.
Also on the list were Sabah Law Society (SLS) president Datuk Roger Chin Ken Fong. Datuk Ceasar Mandela Malakun (GRS), Datuk Ir Chin Shu Ying (GRS), Datuk Kasim Razali (GRS) and Grace Lee Li Mei (PKR).
