KOTA KINABALU (April 10): Sabah’s teacher placement rate has reached 98.22 per cent, ensuring smooth school operations across the state.

This was highlighted during a courtesy call by the Education Service Commission (SPP) on State Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Datuk James Ratib today.

The SPP delegation was led by Datuk Adzman Talib, accompanied by Md Radzi Hashim, Datuk Dr Nuinda Alias, Intan Zainab Mohd Bustan and other officers.

Also present were ministry permanent secretary Datuk Hassan Mahali and senior ministry officials.

During the briefing, SPP also highlighted that 86.75 per cent of Sabah’s teaching workforce comprises locals, in line with the state government’s aspiration to empower homegrown talent and strengthen the education human resource base.

The development reflects ongoing coordination between the state government and SPP to ensure sufficient and quality teaching personnel.

Discussions also covered teacher appointments and placements, as well as efforts to strengthen key areas supporting Sabah’s science, technology and innovation agenda.

The visit underscored ongoing efforts to empower the education sector as a foundation for human capital development.

SPP reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Sabah’s needs through efficient and responsive education human resource management, while enhancing coordination between federal and state levels to ensure an inclusive and progressive education system.
