The Sarawak team fly the Ibu Pertiwi flag after winning the mixed freestyle open team event.

KUCHING (Aug 17): The Sarawak contingent made a clean sweep of four golds in the Taekwondo poomsae finals of the Malaysia Games (Sukma) XXI at the Sarawak Indoor Stadium today.

Sarawak’s Farah Nabilla Maddarus and Fedealis Kom Twin won gold in the mixed freestyle mix pair event in the first finals Saturday morning with the highest average score of 6.24, while Jonathan Rixie Ryan and Cady Fong Yu Eng of Kelantan took second place with a score of 4.74.

In the same category, Fredlyster British and Avila Vianney Tet-Foot of Kedah won third place with a score of 4.54 while Muhammad Faris Danial Mohd Ziunizan and Tengku Natrah Adani Dalil Tengku Ahmad Muzaffa of Pahang took fourth place with a 4.26 score.

In the men’s freestyle individual event, Sarawak’s Chin Ken Haw won the category with the highest average score of 7.23 while second place went to Johor’s Khoo Le Jie (6.77). Ned Augusti Nelson of Sabah and Fan Chun Yao of Perak took the third and fourth place with a score of 6.10 and 5.73 respectively.

As for the women’s freestyle individual event, Sarawak’s Zara Nur Zafirah Mohd Yusof won the category with a 6.50 score; Avila Vianney Tet-Foot of Kedah took second place with 5.74; Tengku Natrah Adani Dalil Tengku Ahmad Muzaffa of Pahang took the third place with 5.27; and Izza Qistina Mat Saidi of Sabah took fourth place with a score of 5.10.

For the mixed freestyle open team event, Fedealis Kom Twin, Chin Ken Haw and Randy Owen Augustine Linggi of Sarawak won with the highest average score of 7.13 while Avila Vianney Tet-Foot, Leonardo Huang Jin Hao and Peiny Chung Min Pei of Kedah took second place took second place with a 5.93 score.

Third and fourth place for the event went to Jonathan Rixie Ryan, Leoston Kok Zi Yi and Yong Qian Qian of Kelantan and Dyana Farwizah Mohd Zaini, Fitri Natasha Sabanah and Harry Lee Clare of Sabah with a score of 5.80 and 5.70 respectively.
