KUCHING (Dec 6): More than 7,000 participants joined the 2025 Kuching Christmas Parade, transforming the city into a vibrant display of joy and festive cheer ahead of the Christmas celebration.

Organised by the Association of Churches Sarawak (ACS) and hosted by the Methodist Church SCAC, the parade, themed “The Season of Love and Hope”, featured 15 floats and drew participants from 72 churches representing various Christian denominations.

ACS chairman Rt Rev Datuk Danald Jute delivered the benediction before the parade began, quoting John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ.”

“As you parade, know that we are walking in the light of Christ, spreading God’s love. And so, walk with Christ, walk in His name, and bless the city of Kuching, the state of Sarawak, and the nation of Malaysia,” he said.

Prior to the benediction, a praise and worship session was held to give thanks to God and commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.

This was followed by readings from the Bible interspersed with intercessory prayers delivered in multiple languages, reflecting Malaysia’s rich multicultural identity. The programme concluded with the singing of Silent Night.
