MIRI (Sept 15): Several roads here will be closed and diverted for the Miri Division Maulidur Rasul procession tomorrow.

Miri district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu in a press statement said the road closures and diversions will be from 5.30am until the processions has ended.

“The roads that will be closed are Jalan Bulatan/Jalan Kipas, Jalan Bintang/Jalan Merdu, Jalan Sylvia/Jalan Merdu, Jalan Post, Jalan Setia Raja, Jalan Nakhoda Gampar/Jalan South Yu Seng, Jalan Merpati intersection, and the federal road intersection.

“Additionally, some roads will be diverted, including the traffic light U-turns at Jalan Sylvia, Jalan Brooke and in front of Mega Hotel,” he added.

Alexson said the procession will be participated by 49 contingents from various government and private agencies, with the starting and ending point being at Miri Civic Centre.

He advised the public not to park their vehicles along the roadside to avoid disrupting the traffic and urged them to comply with police officers’ instructions.
