JPPS Keningau workers carry out repairs to fix the clogged sewerage system in Taman Kota.
KOTA KINABALU (Jan 8): The clogged sewerage system affecting residents of Taman Kota Phase 1 and Phase 2 in Keningau has been fully cleared following prompt action by the Sabah Sewerage Services Department (JPPS) Keningau Division.
The blockage, which disrupted sewage flow and affected public cleanliness, was resolved after intensive repair and maintenance work by JPPS’ technical team.
The remedial action followed complaints from local residents, raised through the Taman Kota Community Committee (JKDB) Keningau, chaired by Kenneth Loh Yin Kong.
Loh highlighted concerns over public health and cleanliness, prompting immediate intervention.
Repair works were carried out over three days and completed on Tuesday.
Measures included identifying the source of the blockage, comprehensive cleaning, and maintenance of the sewerage lines to restore smooth and safe sewage flow.
Residents expressed gratitude to JPPS for the rapid response and praised Loh for his proactive role as a liaison, ensuring complaints were addressed promptly and effectively.
