KOTA KINABALU (Jan 23): The Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Secretariat paid a courtesy visit to the Sabah Ministry of Works and Utilities yesterday as part of an official introduction and efforts to strengthen strategic cooperation between both parties.
The visit also aimed to align the direction and implementation of the SMJ 2.0 initiatives, particularly those related to infrastructure and utilities, while ensuring effective policy execution and improved public service delivery.
During the meeting, Works and Utilities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam shared his views and input with the SMJ Secretariat on the current state of Sabah’s road infrastructure, water supply, sewerage systems and electricity services.
He highlighted existing implementation challenges and emphasised the need for phased improvements to enhance service reliability for the people.
Joachim, who also serves as Deputy Chief Minister I, expressed his appreciation for the delegation’s visit and conveyed his hope that SMJ 2.0 initiatives would become more robust and effective, ultimately benefitting the local community and supporting Sabah’s overall development.
The SMJ Secretariat delegation was led by chief coordinating officer Datuk Datu Rosmadi Datu Sulai and chief operating officer Datuk Ramlee Kariah, accompanied by other officials.
