A teenage boy drowned after falling into the sea at Kampung Tinosa water village in Sandakan.
SANDAKAN (March 14): A 15-year-old boy drowned after falling into the sea at a water village in Kampung Tinosa, Batu 7, on Friday.
The victim, Mohd Mahadir Danish Abdullah, was discovered face down in the water under a bridge by his cousin at around 4pm.
Sandakan District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner George Abd Rakman, said the boy was found unconscious before being pulled out by authorities.
“The victim was declared dead by officers from the Health Ministry. No foul play was found on the victim’s body and the body was taken to the Duchess of Kent Hospital Forensic Department for a post-mortem,” he said in a statement.
George added that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death, and the case has been classified as sudden death.
