KUCHING, July 25: Sixteen individuals were left homeless after two houses in Kampung Bako were razed by fire today.

According to a report from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, they received a call regarding the incident at 1.58am and deployed a team from Bomba Tabuan Jaya to the location.

Upon arrival, the operation commander reported that two houses had been 100 per cent destroyed by flames.

No casualties were reported and all 16 residents managed to escape to safety.

It took firefighters about two hours to contain and successfully douse the fire. — DayakDaily
