170 employees join SOP hiking programme

MIRI: Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad (SOP) drew 170 employees and family members to Lambir Hills National Park for its annual Kasi Jadi Social Hiking programme last Saturday.

The programme brought together employees from different departments and locations across Sarawak, providing an opportunity for staff to strengthen workplace relationships through outdoor activities.

Participants gathered early before setting off along two designated hiking routes in the national park, which is known for its rainforest landscape and waterfalls.

The activity formed part of SOP’s efforts to promote employee wellbeing while encouraging teamwork and interaction among staff from different parts of the organisation.

This year’s programme also introduced participants to a new hiking setting, with Lambir Hills providing a different environment for staff to take part in physical activity and spend time together outside their usual workplace.

Senior sales and distribution manager Jack Jong, who participated in the hike, said the strong turnout reflected employees’ shared commitment to health, teamwork and wellbeing.

“We are delighted to see another strong turnout for the SOP Kasi Jadi Social Hiking. It is encouraging to witness staff from across Sarawak coming together in support of a shared commitment to health, teamwork and employee wellbeing,” he said.

The participants completed their respective routes safely before returning to the designated meeting point, where lunch was distributed.

The programme also provided an opportunity for employees from different locations to interact and build stronger working relationships beyond their regular workplace routines.
