187 community nurses from Sibu, Kanowit join Family Day gathering

SIBU (July 29): Sarawak Community Nurses Association Sibu branch hosted a Family Day gathering for 187 community nurses from the health clinics here, as well as from Sibu Hospital and Kanowit Hospital.

The programme at Permai Lake Garden here on Saturday was graced by Lanang MP Alice Lau who commended the event’s organiser for its efforts in not only delivering a high-quality public service, but also for promoting sports and recreational activities for its members.

“This Family Day is an excellent platform for all members of the Sarawak Community Nurses Association, especially those serving in Sibu Division, to meet and get to know each other better.

“Sometimes, while performing our duties, we only hear the voices of our colleagues on the phone without knowing their faces,” she said.

Lau, who is also Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker, said such gatherings could further strengthen the camaraderie among its members in line with the spirit of ‘Segulai Sejalai’ and Malaysia Madani’s unity aspiration.

Also present were Lanang Health Clinic medical officer-in-charge Dr Robert Lau Chin Sieng, and Sarawak Community Nurses Association Sibu branch chairperson Anita Suppi.
