KUCHING: A total of 24 projects have been listed for implementation under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) of the Kabong State Constituency in the upcoming year.

Kabong Assemblyman Mohd Chee Kadir stated that all these projects were proposed for advancement to the Sarawak State Government based on the wishes of the people.

“They (the people) request it through the Village Development and Safety Committee (JKKK), and then it is brought to me.

“However, we scrutinise to ensure that the proposed projects are genuinely needed.

“That’s why I consider the role of the JKKK or village and community chiefs (KMKK) to be crucial in identifying the proposed projects,” he said when contacted yesterday.

Two days ago, he attended a Workshop on the Preparation of the RTP Project List for the Betong Division in 2024 organized by the Strategic Planning and Project Implementation Section of the Betong Division, Betong Resident’s Office in the state capital.

He said he hopes that the 24 projects planned through RTP in the upcoming year will benefit the entire Kabong State Constituency community in line with the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) slogan, “Prioritize Sarawak.”

Asked about the current status of RTP projects for the current year (2023), he said there are a total of 27 projects.

“Half of them are still in the implementation stage (ongoing). Some have just completed the ballot process.

“I believe their completion will have a significant impact.

Therefore, monitoring the implementation of each project must be done to ensure completion within the specified timeframe,” he added.
