BINTANGOR, 2 Oct: A total of 27 individuals were examined in Combined Operations and Strike Ops by Foreign Citizen Drivers along the Group Road here today.
The operation was carried out by the Immigration Department of Sarawak through the Sarikei Immigration Office along with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).
According to a statement by JIM Sarawak, the operation involved 20 members of the force, consisting of seven JPJ members, seven PDRM members and six JIM Sarikei members.
"Of the 27 individuals examined, 24 were Malaysians while three other foreign nationals, consisting of two men and one woman.
"The results of the inspection, no arrests were made and no police reports were recorded during the operation", the statement said.
The operation was carried out to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as enhance cooperation between agencies in enforcement and public safety aspects.
JIM Sarawak announced that integrated enforcement operations with the relevant agencies will be continued to ensure national security and interests are always preserved.
