KUCHING, Dec 18: Thirty students from SK Sibu Jaya were treated to a Christmas buffet held at Imperial Hotel Kuching during their ‘Explorasi Sarawakku Sayang’ trip to Kuching.
Accompanied by ten teachers, they were also given a tour of the hotel facilities by the staff before being served buffet-style at the hotel’s Imperial Garden Restaurant.
Speaking to reporters at the event, Imperial Hotel Kuching’s director of sales and marketing, Irene Tan, said the food testing session provided for the students is part of the Imperial Hotel Customer Service Relation (CSR) programme.
She said the CSR programme, which has been organised since 2015, has always been held at the end of the year festive season and before Ramadhan.
“We prioritise students from rural areas to provide them with the holiday experience.
“Apart from that, we also collaborate with Hope Place for the underprivileged,” she said.
She added that the programme would probably include Chinese New Year and Deepavali celebrations in the future.
The students were also given gifts from Imperial Hotel Kuching general manager Patrick Kuek.
The SK Sibu Jaya students and teachers are on a three-day trip to visit Kuching (Dec 16-19).
They visited the Sarawak Cultural Village, Petrosains, Kuching Waterfront, Borneo Culture Museums, Imperial Hotel, Radio Television Malaysia (RTM), and Jong’s Crocodile Farm. — DayakDaily
