5 selected Fifa Asean Cup matches to be shown live

YTL has been mandated as the main sponsor for the broadcast of the Fifa Asean Cup 2026.

In a statement today, the broadcasting department said through this strategic partnership, RTM as the official broadcaster would broadcast five selected matches of the tournament, including three Group A matches involving the Malaysian team, as well as the third-place playoff and the final match.

Live broadcasts of the matches can be watched through the Sukan RTM and Sukan+ RTM channels, as well as via online streaming through the RTMKlik application, Bernama reported.

According to the statement, the match involving Malaysia, currently ranked 136th in the world, against Bangladesh (No 181) at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta last Friday was broadcast live.

This will be followed by Indonesia’s match against Malaysia at 8.30pm Malaysian time on Monday (Sept 28), Malaysia’s match against Singapore on Thursday (Oct 1) at 8.30pm, and the group third-place playoff and final on Oct 5 at 5pm and 9pm respectively.

“The broadcast of this tournament will help ignite the spirit of supporters and give solid backing to the Malaysian team throughout the competition,” the statement added.
