SIBU (Aug 14): A total of 54 outstanding Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) students recently received their excellent incentive awards from Sibu MP Oscar Ling Service Centre.

All the students obtained at least a CGPA of 3.30 in their 2023 STPM examination.

Ling, when giving away the incentives, reminded the students to strive hard as they are the leaders of tomorrow.

“Young people are the pillars of our country and they will lead us into the next era. So study hard and lay the foundation for the future of our country,” he said during the dinner held to celebrate the occasion.

While congratulating the students for excelling their studies, Ling said good results did not come out from thin air.

“Good results only come from hard work and serious study.”

He also reminded the students to study hard and expand their horizons.

“Expand your horizons in the college, in your interpersonal relationships, open up your mind, and make your college career colourful.”

At the same time, Ling said it also helps pave their future work, career, and life.

Adding on, Ling encouraged the students to actively vote in all state and national elections and to cultivate a daily habit of reading newspapers.

He emphasised that caring about national affairs, understanding the country’s system and policies, and being a responsible and patriotic citizen are all good habit.

“Malaysia, under the current leadership of the Unity Government, is on the road to bringing about reforms and institutional changes.”
