BINTANGOR, Aug 13: After a long six-year wait, 20-year-old Lim Ming Hee has successfully become a Malaysian citizen.
Lim, who applied for citizenship in 2018, received his citizenship certificate from the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) at a ceremony held at the Meradong Constituency Service Centre on Monday (Aug 12) as reported by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).
The citizenship certificate was presented to Lim at the Meradong Constituency Service Centre on Monday (Aug 12) in the presence of Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing.
Ding expressed his delight at the approval, voicing his hopes that Lim’s new status will open doors to stable employment opportunities in the future.
Lim’s parents, who have been patient and persistent throughout the lengthy process, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Ding.
They acknowledged his crucial support and tireless efforts in following up with the National Registration Department (NRD) over the years, which played a significant role in securing their son’s Malaysian citizenship. — DayakDaily
