MIRI (July 23): Seven bodybuilders from Miri will take part in the Mr Malaysia 2024 competition, which will be held in Johor on Aug 2.
The seven athletes are Chong Hien Yung (Athletic Physique up to 167cm), Wilman Tan (Athletic Physique over 175cm), Hamizan Zaudin (Master category), Asdilah Asmat Sefri (Light Flyweight), Ranovich Matthew (Flyweight), Sariewin Mudim (Bantamweight), and Awangku Hosin Awangku Bagul (Welterweight).
Miri Bodybuilding Association president Jamilah Ibrahim said the seven are a combination of experienced athletes and newcomers, who performed excellently at the recent state-level championship.
“All of them have undergone intensive training in the past months and we hope that they would be able to win in the national championship in Johor,” she said in a press statement today.
Mr Malaysia 2024 is expected to involve over 100 bodybuilders from across the country.
