7yo among three injured in motorcycle crash with 4WD in Miri

MIRI, Oct 10: A 19-year-old man and two pillion riders aged seven and 17 sustained minor injuries in an accident involving a motorcycle and a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle near the Permyjaya traffic lights in Miri on October 8.

According to Miri district police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah, the accident occurred at about 10.50pm along Jalan Dato’ Sri Joseph Balan here.

“The motorcycle, carrying the three individuals, was travelling from Pujut 7 Bridge towards Permyjaya when it was sideswiped on its right side by a Toyota Hilux near the Permyjaya traffic lights.

“All three victims sustained minor injuries and received treatment at Miri Hospital,” he said in a statement.

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Mohd Farhan also advised road users to drive carefully and comply with traffic regulations to avoid endangering themselves and others. — DayakDaily
