The 2026 Citrawarna Speed Festival is celebrating Malaysian culture through Colours of Parade

PUTRAJAYA, 4 Oct: Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 reached its peak last night through Colours of Parade at IOI City Mall Putrajaya.

The event brought together around 1,500 dancers and entertainers from across the country to celebrate Malaysia's cultural diversity and heritage.

Tourism Malaysia's event is the main culmination of the 12 days of festival which has been running since 23 September at three locations namely IOI City Mall Putrajaya, Terminal 1 Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Hotel Sama-Sama KLIA.

Deputy Director-General (Promosi) Tourism Malaysia, Mohd Akbal Setia said that the reception to this occasion gives confidence that Citrawarna can be developed as an annual event on a larger scale in the future.

"Historically, paintings have been presented every year, but for some years we haven't done it.

"Starting this year, we expect Citrawarna to become an annual event and can be expanded further", he said when met at the event on Saturday.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Chiew Choon Man and Chief Secretary of State, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.

Meanwhile, added Mohd Akbal, this year's Citrawarna Speed Festival presented a different concept through the combination of cultural elements and motorsport, compared to previous events in Derdeka.

Colours of Parade highlights cultural performances from the North, Central, South and East Coast, in addition to Sabah and Sarawak, through a combination of traditional music, dance, colorful fashion and artistic expression reflecting the identity of Malaysian society.

The parade also featured performances of Indigenous, Chinese, Indian, Sikh and Siamese communities, as well as performances of Percussion and Bands from across the Nusantara region, celebrating cultural diversity and spirit of national unity.

The reception to the festival also caught fire as some 52,000 visitors were recorded at IOI City Mall throughout the day, from early morning until late evening. - TVS.
