KUALA LUMPUR, 1 Oct: National Technical Professionals Day (HPTN) 2026 is not only a platform to recognize the contributions of technical professionals but also opens up more space for international industry players to explore cooperation opportunities, expertise and technology in Malaysia.

Director of the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR), Datu Dr. Cassidy Morris said that this can be seen through the interest of industry players from several countries to participate in HPTN 2026 which will take place at Borneo Kuching Convention Centre (BCCK), this December.

He said that among the industry players showing interest were from Germany, Europe and China, thus making HPTN 2026 a platform with an international dimension.

"This is an opportunity for us in Malaysia and industry players from other countries. They are very keen to join us as partners, exhibitors and as a team for HPTN in Kuching", he said speaking at the launch of HPTN 2026 in the capital today.

According to him, the participation of international industry players gives visitors an opportunity to see technological developments, innovations and activities related to technical professions from a broader perspective, as well as opening up space for participants to explore business opportunities.

"It's time for us to explore, gain business knowledge and for most HPTN players, we can also learn from experts", he said.

Cassidy said that the 2026 HPTN in Sarawak also provides an opportunity to highlight technical, technological and innovation developments, as well as expanding industry engagement from across the country and internationally.

He said that the success of a large-scale promotion is not only dependent on planning, resources and strategies but also requires engagement and a sense of responsibility from all parties to ensure that the plan translates into results.

HPTN 2026 "Sustainable Driver Technical Profession" will be held on 1 and 2 December at BCCK, with joint sponsorship from the Malaysian Ministry of Public Works, JKR Malaysia, Government of Sarawak and JKR Sarawak as the main agency.
