GEDONG: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg officiated at the distribution of sacrificial cows at Al-Kawthar mosque, Gedong today (June 18).
A total of 23 cows were distributed to the suraus and villages in the Sadong Jaya parliamentary area in conjunction with Aidiladha.
Abang Johari had contributed nine cows for the programme while eight cows were contributed by the Islamic Welfare Trust Board (LAKIS) Samarahan Division, and another six by Batang Sadong Parliamentary Service Centre.
Surau Assyakirin; Surau Darul Madinah; Surau Nurul Islam; Surau Darul Islam; Surau Assobirin; Surau Nur Addin; BAKIS; Surau Nurul Hidayah; Surau Darul Ibadah; Surau At Taibin; Surau Al Muttaqin; Kpg Lot Fasa 2 and Kpg Datu Muai; and Madrasah Tahfiz An Nur each received one cow for the Aidiladha sacrifice.
Meanwhile, Kampung Lubuk Punggor and Kpg Sibau Rembau/Ulu Simunjan received two cows each whereas Kampung Gumpey; Kpg Lubuk Buntin; Kpg Sungai Ba/ Tanjung Tanglung/Lubuk Shamsu; Kpg Hj Baki/Arjuna; Kpg Ensengei; and Gedong Service Centre were given one cow each.
Present at the programme were Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication (Utilities) Datuk Abdul Rahman Junaidi; acting State Secretary Datuk Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel; advisor to the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Datuk Seri Mohd Naroden Majais; Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris; Samarahan Division Resident Mohamad Irwan Bahari Bujang; Gedong District Officer Tamida Da’adi; among others.
