MIRI: Chart-topper Annuar Zain captivated nearly 2,000 fans at the ‘Festival Gala Evening – Anuar Zain’ concert held at the Pullman Waterfront Hotel here on Saturday night.
The concert, a highlight of the inaugural ‘Miri Arts Festival (MAF’ 24)’, drew fans not only from Miri but also from neighbouring Brunei and even the peninsula.
The evening kicked off with a mesmerising performance by Sarawak violinist Nisa Addina, who played ten pieces from her violin repertoire.
This was followed by a contemporary creative art presentation by MahsuriShark.
Adding to the entertainment was Malaysian actor, comedian, and television presenter Douglas Lim, who had the audience in stitches for 45 minutes with his comedic performance.
Anuar Zain made a grand entrance, walking through the main door while singing his hit “Keabadian Cinta.”
As he made his way to the stage, he shook hands with fans, many of whom seized the opportunity for a selfie.
Despite the modest size of the venue, it was a full house, a testament to Anuar’s enduring popularity in Sarawak, Sabah, Brunei, and beyond.
The 54-year-old singer performed a total of ten songs, much to the delight of his fans, who sang along and took every chance to capture the moment with photographs and autographs.
The concert, which began at 9pm, concluded just before midnight
