Baby among four survivors in car-4WD crash

MIRI (Aug 30): A six-month-old baby was among the four victims of an accident involving a compact car and a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle at Jalan Bintang here today.

The Civil Defence Force (APM) said four members led by Mariani Eddy were rushed to the location upon receiving an emergency call at 11.39am.

“Upon their arrival, the team immediately gave initial treatment to the four female victims at the scene, before transporting them to Miri Hospital for further treatment,” it said in a statement.

APM said the 63-year-old victim suffered chest pain and a deep cut on her left thigh, while the other 26-year-old woman sprained her right ankle.

“A seven-year-old girl suffered facial bruising while the six-month-old baby girl suffered swelling on the left side of her head,” it said.
