Bomba personnel retrieving the body which was found floating in Sungai Maaw in Sibu on Nov 28, 2023.

SIBU, Nov 28: An unidentified body was found floating between two ferries at a shipyard at Sungai Maaw today.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, the Sungai Merah station received a call from the police to assist in retrieving the body at 9.52am today.

The operations commander requested that one of the ferries be moved to allow Bomba personnel to use a rescue boat, and the body was retrieved using a scoop stretcher.

The body was handed over to the police, and the operation was concluded at 11.30am.

Police are currently investigating the identity of the body. — DayakDaily
