MIRI (Nov 2): Lutong fire and rescue station (Bomba Lutong) personnel rescued a stray dog which fell into a five-foot-deep drain at Jalan Jati, Senadin today.
According to Bomba Lutong chief Henry Jugah, they received a call from a member of the public at 10.49am requesting assistance.
“As soon as we received the call, a team of six personnel was dispatched to the location, where they met with the complainant upon arrival,” he said.
He said the complainant related that she heard noises coming from the drain and later discovered a female stray dog in it. However, she was afraid to catch it as it was a stray dog.
Henry added that the team took about 12 minutes to calm and capture the dog.
“After rescuing it from the drain, the team released the dog,” he said.
The operation concluded at 11.10am.
