Borneo Arts and Creative Awards (BACA) 2024 set for September 25-27

KUCHING: The Armada Anak Seni Sarawak (ARAS) in collaboration with National Book Development Foundation and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), is set to host Borneo Arts and Creative Awards (BACA) 2024.

The event will take place at Pullman Hotel Kuching from September 25 to 27, running from 9am to 4.30pm.

The organisers in a statement, said the two-and-a-half-day event will gather academics and artists from local universities as well as universities from Sabah, Brunei, and Kalimantan.

They will present their papers on topics related to books and the arts, discussing developments, innovations, and current issues affecting these industries.

The highlight of the event will be the Gala Night on Sept 27 where it will be attended by the Head of State Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

During the Gala Night, it will include the presentation of numerous awards to individuals and organisations demonstrating excellence in the arts and creative fields in Borneo.

Among the main awards to be presented are the arts awards and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The evening will also showcase artistic performances, art exhibitions, and networking sessions, providing guests with the opportunity to interact and share insights with prominent figures in the arts and creative industries.

BACA 2024 aims to celebrate talent and creativity while strengthening networks and collaboration within the Borneo arts community.
