GEDONG, July 11: A boy was injured in an accident involving two lorries at the junction leading to the Tabung Haji Plantation in Gedong, Bukit Engkarit, along the Pan Borneo Highway between Gedong and Serian this morning.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 9.01am, and firefighters from the Serian station were deployed.

It was noted that the accident involved two soil-laden lorries and that the public had already assisted the victim, along with an adult male, who was uninjured.

“A young boy sustained an injury to his right leg and was given initial treatment by the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team before being transported to Serian Hospital for further treatment,” said the report, according to TVS.

No rescue operation was required as both victims had already been extricated before the firefighters arrived.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. — DayakDaily
