SARIKEI: Immediate repairs are needed for the road damage on the Pan Borneo Highway to ensure the safety of its users, according to Sarikei MP Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii.
He said that residents and road users have lodged complaints about the highway’s deteriorating condition.
“The section of the Pan Borneo Highway near the Sin Kim San Cafe intersection, from CH43 to CH44, has potholes and stagnant water, posing danger to road users.
“The Public Works Department (PWD) and Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak need to initiate repair work as soon as possible,” Huang said in a press statement today.
Recently, Huang’s representative, Kapitan Ling Dien Yong, with community leaders and Jesicca Jimbau, a representative of PWD Pan Borneo Sarawak Highway visited the Sin Kim San Cafe intersection.
“The contractor has promised to carry out maintenance urgently to prevent accidents,” added Huang.
Furthermore, Kapitan Ling inspected the intersection at Sungai Sebanyak leading to Jalan Bulat.
“This intersection, connecting to the Pan Borneo Highway, is facing problems with uneven road surfaces. It requires immediate attention to facilitate smoother vehicle movement in and out of the road,” he said.
