Car in Sibu destroyed in fire

SIBU (July 13): A car was completely destroyed after it caught on fire at Lorong Salim 1 here last night (July 12).

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement said a distress call was received around 9.02pm before a team of seven firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, the department said the car was already destroyed in the blaze.

Firefighters then conducted a size-up before extinguishing the fire with water from the fire engine.

After ensuring that the situation was safe, the operation was wrapped up at 9.42pm.

No casualties were reported from the incident, and the cause of the fire and total damages is yet to be ascertained.
