SIBU: The Sarawakku Reading Carnival held at Nanga Ngungun Multipurpose Hall, Kanowit recently has received an encouraging response.

The event officiated by Ngemah assemblyman, Anyi Jana, was aimed to instil an interest in reading and foster a culture of knowledge in the local community.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Pusaka Sibu regional manager, Fairul Azli Banchit, stated that this carnival is an important step in forming a better knowledgeable and informative society.

“We not merely want to create an atmosphere that is fun, but also educational. Through this carnival, we hope the community will be inspired to continue reading and learning throughout life, in order to form a better society that is competitive and ready to face future challenges” he said.

The carnival was successfully conducted through various interesting activities such as ‘Reading session with the Leader, Anyi’ where he shared his favourite books.

In addition, Pustaka Sibu also collaborated with various government agencies and NGOs for service exhibitions such as UTS, MAKNA, CIDB, ​​SPAY, Department of Chemistry, EPF, Laila Taib College, and Digitisation Unit.

Pusaka Sibu expressed its highest appreciation to the invited participants as well as the general public for the encouraging attendance.
