KUCHING: The Alumni Association of Chung Hua Middle School (CHMS) No.1 Kuching invites the public to an engaging evening on Friday (June 14) titled ‘A Date with IT’.
According to a statement issued by the association on Thursday (June 13), the highlight of the event will be a keynote address by esteemed alumnus Awang Aizzuddin Sulong Awang Sabli, a prominent figure in the IT sector.
“Awang Aizzuddin, who graduated from Chung Hua Middle School No. 1 in 2004 and later from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Malaysia in 2008 with a degree in Information Technology and Craft, has had a distinguished career trajectory.
“He served as the Assistant Director at the Tun Abg Haji Openg Digital Center (TAHODC) at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) from October 2009 to 2018, before being promoted to senior assistant director, a position he currently holds,” the statement revealed.
The statement then added that Awang completed his Master’s degree in Advanced Information Technology and Craft at UNIMAS in 2016.
“In the rapidly advancing landscape of Information Technology (IT), mastery over its domains has become indispensable for securing better survival conditions and competitiveness.
“However, how much do we really know about IT and in what areas does it encompass,” said the association in the statement.
Therefore, the statement shared that the event, scheduled to commence at 7.30 pm in the Chung Hua Middle School No. 1 auditorium, will offer insights into Awang’s role and responsibilities at UNIMAS’s data center, shedding light on the department’s functions.
“Furthermore, he will share personal anecdotes and experiences from his educational and professional journey, providing invaluable guidance to young individuals seeking career directions and future planning,” the statement added.
The event is open to all, irrespective of age, as the boundaries of the digital world know no limits.
