Community Stage Night receives good response

MUKAH: The Community Stage Night held in conjunction with the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) Community Day Programme received an encouraging response from local residents at the Petanak Village Community Hall, here on Friday.

Among the activities held that night were performances by UKAS artistes and Melanau artiste Harris Abdullah besides Karaoke Competition finals and ‘Ratu Ibu’ Contest.

For the Karaoke Competition finals, Zuki Saffaee was crowned the champion and took home a cash prize of RM300 and a trophy.

The first runner-up placing was won by Muhammad Syukri Shadan, receiving a cash prize of RM200 and a trophy. Meanwhile, third place went to Ordie Ayak, who took home a cash prize of RM100 and a trophy.

Meanwhile, Jessica Inyu was crowned ‘Ratu Ibu’ in the ‘Ratu Ibu’ Competition during the Community Stage Night.

The 37-year-old Jessica managed to bring home RM500 in cash, a crown and a trophy.

The second place was won by Kunni Belajang, 64, taking home a cash prize of RM400 and a trophy. Meanwhile, third place was won by Nur Ain Abdullah, 54, who received a cash prize of RM300 and a trophy.

Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine and his wife Batrice Zuras presented the prizes for the two competitions.

Also present were UKAS principal assistant director Anwar Hanafi Ardimansyah and acting Mukah District Officer Peleadzman Ahip.

Royston has a good time at the UKAS Community Day Programme.
