BINTULU (Aug 30): The National Consumer Foundation Malaysia (YPNM) Bintulu branch will organise an exciting and informative ‘Health Seminar 2024’ tomorrow.

Its president Kapitan Simon Hong said the event will take place at Times Square Mall Bintulu from 9am to 2pm, and is aimed at promoting health and wellness within the community.

“The seminar will kick off with an invigorating ‘Zumba for Health’ session from 9am to 10am. This fun and energetic workout is designed to get participants moving and boost their fitness levels.

“Following that, attendees will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights from a series of talks by specialist medical doctors from Columbia Asia Hospital Bintulu,” he told a press conference.

He said from 10am to 2pm, experts including eye specialist Dr Chong Ka Lung, general surgeon Dr Jackson Ling and orthopaedic surgeon Dr Alex Lau will share their knowledge on various health topics.

“This will provide attendees with a wealth of information to help them maintain and improve their health,” he said, adding the topics will be on colorectal screening, low back pain and management, cataract, pterygium, glaucoma and diabetic eye disease.

Additionally, Hong said the seminar offers a range of free medical check-ups, including dental check-up by Dr Athinia Wong Ing Nee, eye inspection, blood test, high blood pressure test, diabetic test and medical consultancy.

“These services are designed to help participants monitor their health and catch any potential issues early.”

To add to the excitement, he said attendees will receive special vouchers as Columbia Asia Hospital will be offering RM20 free dental vouchers, while Woops! Eyewear will be giving away free frame vouchers as well as RM50 cash vouchers.

Hong called on the people to join the seminar, saying it is a fantastic opportunity to come together, learn about health and take proactive steps towards a healthier lifestyle.
