MIRI: Police arrested two local men on suspicion of being involved in a brawl in an entertainment outlet recently.
Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed that the arrests were made around 4.50 pm yesterday (Nov 15).
The arrests were prompted by two police reports, both linked to a Facebook post depicting a man in a visibly injured and bloody state, following a fight at an entertainment outlet.
“In response to the reports and public tip-off, a team from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) arrested the two suspects in an operation codenamed ‘Op Cantas/Kesan’.
“Both suspects are slated to appear in the Miri Court for a remand application,” he said.
The public are advised not to speculate or share any sensitive issues, which could interfere with the ongoing investigations.
Alexson said the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 323/506 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
