MIRI (Oct 8): Four outstanding students at Curtin University Malaysia were honoured during the ‘Curtin Malaysia Student Learning Awards 2024’ for their dedication and academic transformation recently.
The recipients are Elly Maszlien Aping, who is a student of Diploma of Commerce; Yong Xing Xuan (Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering); Aimie Peace Siganul (Bachelor of Engineering in Civil and Construction Engineering); and Ling Kian Wu (Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance).
The award recognises students who have displayed extraordinary commitment to improve their academic standing and scholastic journey.
Under the mentorship of dedicated academic staff, the recipients have transformed their academic performance, advancing from a ‘conditional’ academic status to ‘good standing’, which demonstrates the determination of the students, as well as the unwavering support of their lecturers.
In his congratulatory message to the recipients, Curtin Malaysia acting pro vice-chancellor and chief executive Prof Vincent Lee praised the students’ commitment to their personal and academic growth.
“The recipients not only engaged with their coursework but they embraced it, demonstrating their dedication, resilience, and eagerness to improve. Their achievement is an inspiring reminder of the power of perseverance,” he said.
The Curtin Malaysia Student Learning Awards continues to highlight the dynamic relationship between student and academic mentor, cultivating an environment where both parties strive for excellence.
