MUKAH: Fuel stations here are not exempted from experiencing diesel supply disruptions, as seen in other areas.
According to a consumer, Aida Zamziela Adeni, diesel has recently become scarce at Petronas Dalat.
“A notice was also posted at Petronas Dalat to inform diesel users that the supply is likely to be limited until the new year, specifically on January 1, 2024.
“At present, most diesel users in Dalat are obtaining their supply from Mukah,” she said when contacted.
She revealed that today (Dec 27), when diesel supply arrived at Shell Mukah, there was a long queue of diesel users eager to obtain their supply.
Furthermore, she mentioned that this situation has been ongoing for the past two to three days, and if diesel supply becomes available, all users seize the opportunity to get it.
Meanwhile, a villager in Balingian stated that diesel supply is very limited, causing inconvenience for rural residents.
“We have to go to Mukah to get diesel supply, but upon arrival here, there are long lines of people waiting to get it.
“In Balingian, diesel supply is also limited, and we got it on Tuesday for this week,” he said.
At the same time, he hopes that the diesel supply issue can be resolved promptly to avoid causing inconveniences to the daily affairs of the public, especially during this festive season.
Last Sunday, Stampin Member of Parliament Chong Chieng Jen disclosed that Sarawak has been facing a shortage of subsidised diesel for the past two weeks.
As a result, this has posed significant challenges to logistics operations, especially affecting heavy vehicle users and others.
