MIRI: Association of Professional Technicians and Technologists (APTT) chairman Ahmad Zawawi Kasmin on Friday stressed the significance of digital construction in advancing the construction sector.

He said that digital construction is rapidly becoming a cornerstone in the global technology landscape, particularly within the construction industry.

“Digital adoption is becoming increasingly widespread, impacting not only the construction sector but the economy at large,” he said at a digital construction event here.

“To harness this potential, we need to collaborate across all sectors — construction, technology, and the broader economy — creating an ecosystem where the future’s economic strength is rooted in digital power.”

Towards this end he said APTT is making efforts to engage professionals in the Northern Region of Sarawak, which includes Bintulu, Miri, Lawas, and Limbang, through a series of targeted programmes.

“Our goal is to bring APTT closer to professionals in the Northern Region, especially those in Miri, by offering programmes that focus on the latest technological advancements” he said.

APTT set up a booth at the event to provide information and encourage professionals to register as technology professionals.

The booth served as a platform to discuss the benefits of registration and the opportunities it opens up within the industry.

“Today’s focus is on digital construction, a new platform that is poised to expand significantly in the coming years.

“By joining forces with organisations like PCCS and leveraging the technology available in Sarawak, particularly in Miri, we can lead the way in creating a robust digital ecosystem that will drive future economic growth,” said Ahmad Zawawi.
