Dr Annuar: UTS commitment to enhancing STEM education will contribute to S’wak’s future

SIBU (July 13): Universiti Teknologi Sarawak’s (UTS) commitment to enhancing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education will contribute greatly towards shaping the future of Sarawak, said Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee.

The state Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development said it is important to continuously encourage and nurture the scientific curiosity and inventive spirit among the youths.

“Your commitment to enhance STEM education will contribute greatly towards shaping the future of Sarawak.

“Let us continue to encourage and nurture the scientific curiosity and inventive spirit of our youth.

“Together, we can build a brighter and more technologically advanced nation,” he said.

His speech text was read by the the permanent secretary of the ministry Adana Jed
at the closing of STEM Trailblazers 2024 at UTS here today.

Adding on, he noted that over the past two days, the event had witnessed incredible displays of talent, innovation, and teamwork from all our participants and stakeholders.

He said the event has been a tremendous success thanks to the hard work and dedication of the organisers, the support of sponsors, and the enthusiasm of all the students and teachers involved.

Meanwhile, SJKC Chung Hua Krokop has been given the STEM icon award during the event.

Among those present were UTS deputy vice chancellor (academic) Professor Dr Mohd Shahril Osman and UTS Dean of the School of Computing and Creative Media Associate Prof Dr Alan Ting.
