Driver dies while being treated after single-vehicle crash in Sri Aman

KUCHING (July 18): The 46-year-old driver of a sports utility vehicle died after he was involved in a single-vehicle accident at KM41 Jalan Sri Aman yesterday.

Sri Aman police DSP Mathew Manggie said members of the public informed them of the accident at around 4.20pm.

“Preliminary information on this accident involved a sports utility vehicle and the victim, who was identified as Voon Chuang Seng, suffered internal injuries and was brought to Sri Aman Hospital,” he said in a statement.

“At around 6.48pm, the Sri Aman police station was contacted by the hospital and informed that the victim had died while receiving treatment at the Sri Aman Hospital Emergency Unit.”

He added the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
