Driver injured after car crashes into ditch

KUCHING: A local man was left injured after his car skidded and crashed into a ditch along Kolong 2, Jalan Matang this morning (Jan 14).

Firemen from Petra Jaya station were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 6.45am.

Upon arrival, the team found that the driver was still in the car and the rescue works were performed using a stretcher.

The victim was then handed over to the emergency medical rescue service (EMRS) unit for initial treatment before he was taken to the hospital.

It was reported that the driver sustained injuries to his head and legs.

Once the situation was deemed safe, the team concluded the operation at 7.19am.
