Driver, passenger killed in fatal crash

SIBU: A driver and his passenger were killed after their car skidded and crashed into a ditch along Jalan Stabau-Salim yesterday (July 21).

Firefighters from Sibu Jaya station were dispatched to the scene, approximately 29km away, after being alerted to the accident at 6.55pm.

Upon arrival, they found the victims trapped inside the overturned Proton Saga FLX, and extrication works were carried out to remove them.

The victims, identified as 29-year-old Dennis Jingga and 18-year-old Johnny Janin, were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Their bodies were later taken to Sibu Hospital for post-mortem procedures.

Once the situation was deemed safe, the operation ended at 8pm.
