Driver severely injured in car crash

BAU: A local man sustained severe head injuries in a car crash near Kampung Jugan, Jalan Bau-Lundu, last night (Sept 1).

The injured victim being handed over to paramedics for transport to Bau Hospital.

The accident happened around 7.50 pm when the Perodua Kancil he was driving, skidded and crashed on the roadside.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Bau station were dispatched to the scene following a distress call.

By the time the team arrived, the driver, whose identity was not known, had already been extricated by members of the public.

The team stabilised the victim, who suffered severe head injuries, before handing him over to paramedics for transport to Bau Hospital for immediate treatment.
