KUCHING, Nov 26: A family of three was found safe after being lost for almost four hours in a jungle near Bukit Begunan, Pantu yesterday.

According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they were notified about the incident by Bomba Sri Aman after receiving a call from one of the victims at 2.35pm on Nov 26 who informed the firefighters about the situation.

Based on the chronology of events, the victim said that they went into a nearby jungle at 10am to look for durian fruit at the family plantation, and got lost on the way back from the plantation.

Following that, firefighters together with the police launched a search operation to locate the missing family based on their ‘live location’ sent by the victim through WhatsApp to the operation commander.

All three victims were found by the search team at 5.20pm. — DayakDaily
