Early bird registration for Samarahan Family Fun Run

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Members of the public are invited to participate in the first ever Samarahan Family Fun Run 2024.

Organised by Makansari Food Street @ Aiman Mall, supported by Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS), the fun run will be held on November 10 (Sunday) starting at 6.30 am.

MPKS chairman Datuk Peter Minos said about 2,000 participants are expected to join the fun run which aims to strengthen family bond, foster multiracial harmony and encourage healthy living within Kota Samarahan.

“This programme indirectly create awareness for the public regarding the availability of the autonomous rapid transit (ART) service in the district by December next year,” he stated during a press conference held at MPKS building here yesterday (July 11).

Speaking further on the ART service, he hopes that by the time it is fully operational, members of the public will use the transportation to full capacity.

“This public transportation will be very convenient especially for students from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

Meanwhile, the early bird registration fee will be RM30, inclusive t-shirt for the 3km run and RM40 with t-shirt for the 5km run.

To engage with the local communities, Makansari will also be sponsoring the run and meals for all boys, girls and staff from The Salvation Army Kuching Children’s Care Centre.

Also present during the press conference were MPKS Councillor Datuk Sim Kiang Chiok and other distinguished guests.
