Early morning fire destroys cargo placed at Sibu bus terminal

SIBU (Aug 6) A fire early this morning destroyed cargo placed at the bus terminal here.

The Fire and Rescue Department said the affected items included mobile phones and accessories, a thermos and washing liquid.

“Following a call for help at 3.17am, a team was dispatched to the scene to douse the fire.

“The fire did not involve the bus terminal as the affected cargo was placed at the side of the building,” said the department in a statement.

The cause of the fire is being investigated, it added.

Also present at the scene were police personnel.
