PADAWAN: The Sarawak government’s ability to deliver its policies, assistance and development programmes effectively hinges on efficient administrative machinery at every level.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said a well organised administration was essential to ensuring government initiatives translated into tangible benefits for the people.

He also urged communities to take full advantage of the facilities and assistance provided by the government instead of letting such opportunities go to waste.

“I urge the community not to waste the opportunities provided and to make the best use of these facilities to improve their wellbeing and their families’ future,” he said.

Uggah said this when officiating the PRN Mambong Administrative Machinery Workshop at the Biperoh Association Hall here yesterday (Sept 11).

He said strengthening administrative efficiency would help ensure government plans and initiatives were delivered in a more targeted and impactful manner.

Uggah also reaffirmed the Sarawak government’s commitment to safeguarding the state’s rights and interests under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

He said the state would continue giving priority to protecting these rights while ensuring the interests of Sarawakians remained central to its development and administration.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Transport (Air and Roads) Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said the workshop was important in strengthening the understanding and effectiveness of the administrative machinery at the constituency level.

The Mambong assemblyman said better coordination among all parties would help streamline operations and improve the delivery of government programmes to the people.
