PETALING JAYA: The retail price of grade A, B and C eggs have been reduced by 3 sen nationwide, effective today.
This was announced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in a statement issued this morning.
The new prices are as follows: Grade A (42 sen per egg), Grade B (40 sen per egg) and Grade C (38 sen per egg) in the peninsula.
Meanwhile, retail prices for eggs in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan will be adjusted according to the respective zones and districts.
“The subsidy covering 10 sen per egg will involve an expenditure of RM100 million,” he said.
He added that in 2023, the allocation for egg subsidies was RM927 million
