ADVERTISE HERE
MIRI (Oct 25): Some 350 former officers and members of Miri’s 12th and 18th General Operations Force (GOF) from Sarawak, Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia, including their family members, will gather here for a reunion next month.
ASP (Rtd) Arman Khan, who is the event’s organising chairman, said the programme will begin with a registration session at the GOF12 camp here on Nov 1.
This will be followed by the recitation of ‘tahlil’ for the Muslims and a memorial service for non-Muslims to honour and pay tribute to their fallen comrades.
The event on Nov 2 will be filled with fun activities for all to reconnect and mingle around, with an aerobic session in the morning and a dinner gathering later in the evening, alongside performances, montage screenings and karaoke sessions.
“This reunion serves as a platform to recall experiences while on duty and strengthen bonds of friendship between members who once defended the country’s sovereignty, while keeping alive the memories and spirit of service to the country,” Arman said in a statement.
“Each and every one of us has done our parts for this country. This reunion reminds us of our contribution and for us to share our experience to the younger personnel who will also be attending the reunion.”
